The Black and Gold Cocktail Bar was established in Kalkan in 2015 and over the last 8 years has built up a great reputation for the best tasting innovative cocktails, attention to detail and service with fun-filled nights of entertainment. Burak Kapson is the man responsible for bringing the delicious award-winning cocktails into being and representing the Black and Gold Bar, Kalkan and Turkey at various international mixology events. He is proud to be taking flavours developed in Kalkan into the wider world of cocktail mixology.
His team show the same dedication and love what they do. But there is more…. The Black and Gold team have been honing their skills not just in cocktail making but in providing a total event experience for customers at the bar itself and in villas and venues around the Kalkan area. In doing so they have made a great many professional connections with musicians, DJs and dancers and have their own chefs and waiters available so can offer a complete package of drinks, food and entertainment delivered with the same attention to detail that you would find at the bar but in your own chosen venue. They have enjoyed this side of the business so much that for 2023 they are offering a wider range of event packages with a dedicated booking service to ensure that everything runs smoothly from initial discussions to the actual event.

GIN TASTING
The Black and Gold Bar is renowned for the range of gins on offer and Burak
has developed some extra special gins with added aromatic botanicals. He
loves to share his knowledge on everything GIN. Burak will talk about the
history of gin and showcase several different gins with a selection of herb
infused mixers and tonics. He will also allow a sneak taste of his own
homemade creation – the first non-alcoholic gin which will be named Kalkan
Gin. This can be a perfect solution for those who love the taste of gin but
prefer to avoid alcohol.
In this afternoon event you can let your tastebuds explore a selection of the
finest gins served with style and sipped at your leisure by the poolside.

addition of aromatic herbs and flavourings and matching with tonics.

WHISKY TASTING
If you enjoy a whisky tipple but so far haven’t found a great range available in
Kalkan, the Black and Gold Whisky tasting afternoon can rectify that. Burak
has collected an impressive range of single malts and good quality blends to be
able to offer a wide selection to discerning customers at the Black and Gold
Bar. For 2023 he has decided to offer a tasting experience in the relaxed
setting of your villa. The team will bring a selection of Scottish, Irish and
American whiskeys to you and serve them with style. Burak will talk about the
history of whisky making.
There will be a selection of canapes and a cheeseboard offered to match the
whisky theme.

including those now available from around the globe.

RAKI AND MEZE AFTERNOON
If you like the taste of aniseed your time in Turkey would not be complete
without trying the famous national drink called RAKI, also known colloquially as
lion’s milk (aslan sütü). Generally rakı is served in a narrow straight glass with
ice cold bottled mineral water and cubes of ice in the glass with another glass
of water on the side. Whilst it is served in every bar and licenced restaurant,
not every rakı is equal. There are some very special distillations that Turks
seek out and ask for by name to ensure they are going to enjoy a premium
taste. There are some very expensive bottles to be found. Burak will explain
about rakı etiquette and select a few different rakı brands for your tasting
exploration.
The traditional way to enjoy rakı is to accompany it with a selection of cold
meze dishes which bring out even more flavour. Our chefs will prepare a
delicious selection of meze dishes to keep your tastebuds on their toes.
For an extra traditional touch we can arrange for Turkish live music to bring a
true meyhane experience to your villa. This is type of event is known as fasıl
and is very popular with Turks as they love to hear the old songs and sing
along. The musicians also love people to dance so for an even more exotic
evening we can arrange for an oriental dancer to appear.
This event can be offered with a minimum of 4 guests for the rakı tasting.
